[Siren Classic ManLove Erotic Alternative Cowboy Romance, M/M, HEA] Mark was a little odd. He worked on a bull farm but disliked the beasts and couldn't abide mud. So when his brothers needed his help out in the field, Mark was not a happy individual. Mark could not believe the mud monster that appeared before him on his visit. But there was something about this mud man that intrigued Mark. Mud didn't bother Patrick Rutherford, which was lucky as he was always covered in the stuff. When Mark turned up to look at his Welsh Black bulls, Patrick decided he wanted to keep this immaculate bull farmer with possibly the cleanest boots in the whole of Yorkshire. But Patrick's home was surrounded by mud. He had only just finished rebuilding it. Inside was finished, but he'd have to get Mark through the mud to be able to see it. They say opposites attract, but could they really? ** A Siren Erotic Romance

I read 'Mark's Welsh Black' as a standalone and yes it is well written to do so. Mark is a wonderful character of conflicts. He works around a dirty business but hates messes, mud, and his families big money maker: big scary bulls. I assume he had a few bad experiences that set him on this path . .. But now he's 34, an established investment financer, beloved brother and son, successful, yet a motor mouth and spouting off his thoughts and feelings left and right. I agree with Pat - Mark is adorable.Pat owns cows and bulls. Of course he does. And his attraction to Mark goes beyond the mud and similar upbringing. He sees the beautiful caring man that knows the business even if he doesn't want to associate with it. The phrase 'Love me, love my house' is very apt.
I realize this isn't a full length novel, but even if there isn't page space, there were gaps in identifying a comatose victim and why a description of this 'John Doe' wasn't circulated by the police, the hospital, and on the local news. Then there was the vehicle registration for the corvette and no follow up on that. There was a huge disconnect and even if it drove the plot, it wasn't executed well enough to believe and the fall out wasn't pursued. In other words 3 months of recovery were just glanced at and there's never a heart to heart about the accident, that the other driver was killed, that Pat thought the worst. . . No, from the accident on too much was happening and not enough page space to back it all up. Even so, this was a fun entertaining read. - Dan's Wife

Mark Welsh Black [Bourne Bulls 4] Siren Publishing Classic ManLove edition by Ellen Quinn Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Mark Bourne has a reputation as being persnickety. Fussy. A wiz with stocks. As the brunt of his three older brothers not always so funny teasing & pranks. Everyone knew how much he hated being dirty, which was hard to avoid on the large scale bull farm he and his brothers managed, yet he was able to accomplish it in a suit & with panache. Mark really despised rainy weather and the mud it created. Stinky smells and the backsides of bulls / cows also made him shy away like a startled colt. How he managed to stay so clean was by not venturing out of his office unless forced. Something that became more necessary with his brothers being busy following their own romantic pursuits.
Never in a million years would Mark, the youngest Bourne brother ever imagine traveling to another bull farm much less being attracted to the big red hairy raw boned farmer whose middle name seems to be "mud". A man who was shockingly the ying to his yang. Never have two men been such polar opposites since The Odd Couple. But there was something in each that called to the other, no matter how much one tried to deny it.
The intangibles of attraction were at work here. You certainly couldn't judge a book by it's mud(dy) cover(alls). Pat Worthington was everything, Mark never wanted in a man. Then why can't he stop thinking about him? Mark was too delicate and prissy for a big rough farmer like Pat. Yet from the first sound of his voice Mark became an intriguing enigma to Pat. One he was determined to unravel. And if both of them suffered from an overload of passion so be it.
Determination, family, a persistent suitor, a Mom to be reckoned with, a nephew who hated smooching uncles as much as despised his sister's stinky nappies, communication breakdowns, uncertain identities, and fear of loss lead to not always the best decision making. But they are prime ingredients in the last and very entertaining story of the Bourne Bull series. I see myself rereading MARK'S BLACK WELSH again really soon.
